Along with the other animals, the stones, the trees, and the clouds, we ourselves are characters within a huge story that is visibly unfolding all around us, participants within the vast imagination, or dreaming, of the world.

A note from Carl 11/2/25
Greetings, dear human,
Tomorrow, I begin a new six-week online course, Coming Home to Your Animal Body: A Course in Movement, Attention, and Naturalness.
Your animal body is not exotic or esoteric. It is you in your most natural, free, uncontrived human body. It is you as a mammal, as an earthling who belongs, and is intimately woven into this very ecosystem you inhabit.
Your animal body holds the inherited wisdom and skills from an unimaginably long line of human and more-than-human ancestors, the vast majority of whom were not looking at screens and lost in thought much of the day.
One of the things I appreciate about movement being a central foundation of all the realms in which Erin and I teach is that our life is movement – and when we can learn how to learn through movement, it opens a magical doorway to learning how to learn through every aspect of our lives – every gesture, every breath, every step. One of our Feldenkrais mentors, Ruthy Alon, referred to this as biological optimism.
You are most welcome to join us, and recordings of all sessions are available if you can’t make it live.
I’m sending such a big heartfelt thank you from both of us for the reflections, notes, and excited responses about our opening the doors to Refugia! We already have an amazing group of humans coming together for this sacred container of learning, practicing, connecting, and embodying our unique soul-medicine as we meet the call of these times. As a reminder, you can take my Coming Home to Your Animal Body class for free once you register for Refugia.
I’ve left the beautiful invitation that Erin sent out below in case you missed it. And for those who have a bone-knowing of “I’m in,” a reminder that we are happy to offer a $500 discount until November 8th as an expression of our thanks for your enthusiastic yes.
With so much gratitude,
Carl
