A note from Erin:
Hi friends,

I am soooo excited to share a brand new offering I’ve created just for you:

Do you want to make more time for yourself yet also dedicate yourself to something beyond yourself?? Me too. Join me for this 9-week immersion where we’ll do just that.

We’ll work to hone the basic skills of embodied listening, nurturing our grounded presence, and exploring Awareness Through Movement –learning through what poet Hafiz calls the most insignificant movements of your own holy body, and of course, in the basic ongoing practice of bravely befriending exactly what’s here. I am heartfully hoping you might feel called to join me!!!

Having been engaged in my own grieving and reorienting process over the past several years as I really let my heart take in the realities of the climate crisis, rampant racism, and the many challenges facing us in the world right now, I feel strongly called to create a learning context and a community gathering place where we can both deepen and emply our embodiment skills and aim them toward the healing of our world. I want a context where we can admit how much we care and how much our hearts are aching. A place where we can listen within our own wise body-mind and to each other for the wisdom we need at this time. We see more clearly when we gather together.

I know in my bones that there is guidance in the grief and outrage we feel when we see destruction and disrespect happening all around us.
I know there is wisdom in the particular ways you love the world.
I know that when we come together, we can support each other to step over the bullshit voices we’ve heard all our lives: that we don’t really understand how the world works, that we should just be quiet, that we should not disturb anyone and just be nice, that we should just let the people in power do their thing.
There’s no more time for that nonsense.
Our voices, our choices, our lives and our actions matter.
It’s time we lead with love.
Let’s support each other to meet these times with embodied courage, with our unapologetic knowings, and with our tender hearts, supported by our embodied presence, our breath, and the living ground.
Let’s heal ourselves while we commit to the healing of the world.

I know it can be terrifying to take off the blinders and really let our hearts break when we see what is unfolding all around us.

And I know the incredible sense of empowerment and fierce love that blossoms in us together and individually and that supports our determination to do whatever we can to support thriving life.

This is so deeply important. Right now. Today. Our wisdom, courage and actions will have rippling impacts on future generations. What kind of impact do you wish to have?

Your voice and your broken-open heart and your unique way of responding have never been more needed.

I want to take your hand and warmly invite you to do this work with me – together – with respect, kindness, and room for it all.

I’m creating a powerful, respectful, and life-giving context where we can come together to engage in potent practices and smart tools to meet our crazy times with grounded presence, with the support of Mother Earth and our own knowing bodies, with our hearts open and our eyes clear. And importantly: with the buoyant support of a committed community.

I would be so grateful to have you join!

I love to imagine us sitting around a sacred fire together, sharing our heartbreak, our deep love for the world, our most courageous ideas and inspirations, our deep dreams, our one-of-a-kind wisdom, and cheering each other on all the way. While our fire will be in the heart and imagination, this is just what we’ll do over 9 weeks together.

What Is It?

Embodying The Great Turning

A journey into embodied practice, deep ecology, embodied systems thinking, and the joy of reconnecting with self, community, and the natural world.

“The central purpose of the Work that Reconnects is to help people uncover and experience their innate connections with each other and with the systemic, self-healing powers of the web of life, so that they may be enlivened and motivated to play their part in creating a sustainable civilization.”
–Joanna Macy

Our time together will include:

  • gentle movement practices
  • embodied listening practices
  • guided meditation
  • personal explorations in deep ecology and systems thinking
  • a host of powerful practices from the Work That Reconnects, developed by Joanna Macy
  • and of course, we’ll be engaging all of this with respect, kindness, and all kinds of room to find your own way.

For sure, this is the solitary work we cannot do alone.

I hope you’ll join me!

What a way to start of 2021: with sacred clarity about what really matters and embodied clarity how we want to meet our times.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

When? Where?

We’ll be meeting on Zoom. It would be wonderful if you can dial in from a quiet place with a decent internet connection, your camera on, and a space where you can move on the floor supported by padding like a carpet, a yoga mat with a blanket on top, or other comfortable support. You may also wish to have a meditation cushion or a comfortable chair in which you can sit upright.

I’m offering two sessions of this class to accommodate different schedule preferences and time zones.

Choose from:

Monday nights, 6-9 pm Mountain Time over 9 weeks from Feb. 1 – March 29, 2021

Tuesday mornings, 9 am-noon Mountain Time over 9 weeks from Feb. 2 – March 30, 2021

How Much?

Suggested $500 tuition includes:

  • 9 live 3-hour workshops
  • an online course hub for you to access recordings and supplementary resources whenever you like
  • a powerful community of beautiful humans
  • my wholehearted support and encouragement and the most powerful tools and practices I have to offer, shared with deep respect
  • Please plan to spend about 3 hours of time outside of our scheduled class time.
  • I’ll be creating small groups in which you’ll meet 3 times over our 9 weeks. This is such a powerfully rich part of the class experience. I’ll make suggestions of the ways you might use your hour together.

I’m also thrilled to let you know that for every registration I’ll be donating $10 to Treesisters, an organization I’m honored to support over the last several years.

If you’d like to donate to a scholarship fund to help make this course more accessible to lower-income folks, please let me know. I’d be sooooo grateful! Any donations that come will be put toward making reduced-tuition spots available.

If you’re unable to afford the full tuition, please email me and let me know what you’re able to afford at this time. You are also wholeheartedly welcome to join if space allows. This reduced tuition option is not made available for those who don’t feel like paying the amount I’m asking for, but for those who truly could not attend otherwise. Thank you for respecting my time and the many many hours and dollars invested in my own education which supports me to bring as much excellence, wisdom, heart, and integrity to my teaching as possible.

And of course, deepening our connection to our embodied selves profoundly deepens our connection with the web of life.

The lyrics below are written by the amazing Libby Roderick.

What do you do when the life rafts are burning and your babies are inside the boat?

Where do you turn when the waters are churning and you’re desperate to learn how to float?

How do you pray when your prayers go unanswered and each crier feels so alone?

What do you do when the life boats are burning?

You turn, turn, turn.

Turn to each other, reach for each other, take one another by the hand.

We’ll form a life raft, a human life raft, and we will swim toward land.

If we make it, we start over.

If we don’t we go down together,

One for all, all forever, turn.

What do you do when the iceberg is looming and the ship isn’t turning away?

How can you be hard when the warning bell’s ringing and the band just continues to play?

Where do you turn when the engines catch fire and the life rafts are starting to burn?

Where do you turn when the engines catch fire and the life rafts are starting to burn?

Turn, turn, turn.

Turn to each other, reach for each other, take one another by the hand.

We’ll form a life raft, a human life raft, and we will swim toward land.

If we make it, we start over.

If we don’t we go down together,

One for all, all forever, turn.

One for all, all forever, turn.

One for all, all forever.

Let’s turn to each other, wholeheartedly.

With all my love for you and for this fragile, beautiful, resilient world,
Erin
