Blessed with Discomfort + Registration Open Today for Fall Class

A note from Erin:

Hi friends,
I hope you’re enjoying the season!
We had such a splendid weekend camping trip in one of our favorite places: Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. How amazing to be in gorgeous wilderness, hiking, lying down in a cool river under a hot sun, surrounded by amazing red rock walls with not a soul around but us. I’m so nourished.

One morning Carl and I had fun reading each other some fresh poems while sitting around a morning campfire. Below I’ll share one of the poem-gems that I loved. Here are a few pics from our spacious weekend in a gorgeous place.

Blessed with Discomfort + Registration Open Today for Fall ClassIn the meantime, upon being home I’m experiencing the “blessing of discomfort.” I love letting my discomfort teach me and bring me back into alignment, whether it’s about back pain or life-situations. I’ve been noticing some things that are feeling out of alignment in my life and some ways my discomfort is asking for me to grow and change. I feel good big changes coming on and while it’s uncomfortable now, I’m deeply grateful.

I’m also getting deeply excited for several great learning opportunities we’re creating this summer and fall. I hope you’ll consider joining us for one of them if it feels right for you.

Today, registration opens for our Fall Embodied Life Class. You can read about it below.

Below you’ll find the juicy details about each of our upcoming opportunities.

1. Befriending Your Creative Genius: A Weekend Retreat for Women in Salt Lake City, July 31-Aug.2

2. Dream Yourself Awake: An Embodied Life Retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico Sept. 10-13

3. Embody Integration: Head, Heart and Hara – our Fall Embodied Life Class starts Sept. 8.

It’s such an honor and a pleasure to be able to share this unique work with others. It astounds me to see how people blossom so vigorously and naturally with skillful practices and kind community. I absolutely love it. If you’d like some support for your own organic blossoming and our “way” resonates for you, consider joining us for one of these opportunities. We’d LOVE to have you be a part of our live and in-person learning community. We also offer 1:1 sessions – contact us if you’re interested!

Can I share a few comments students have recently offered about what’s changed for them since working with us?

“My sense of presence, being has expanded AGAIN, More & MORE. I attribute this beautiful sense of expansion, clarity, love to the tools I’ve learned with you and Carl. I am so much happier, willing to risk, and willing to be me, willing to be courageous, and vulnerable and willing to SURRENDER!!!!! Willing to recognize habit, kiss it, embrace it, and even let it go. I am blessed.
I truly feel that I am moving into a place where I can more effectively be of benefit to all beings. It is my deep intention.”
– Kristen Paul

“I feel more positive, more peaceful, more calm, more accepting of the challenging times both internally and externally.”
– Janine Wood

“I’m self-accepting. I’ve realized I don’t have to be different to receive my own warmth. Now, without changing a single thing about my circumstances, my life feels radically altered and filled with new purpose. Nothing about me is different – and everything has changed.
Last time I checked in with my therapist, he commented, “Do you realize just how NOT depressed you are?!” – MaryBeth Clark

“I have never felt more comfortable with myself than I do right now, having only scratched the surface of this path. And that thought makes me absolutely giddy, knowing that there may be more to come!

It’s so important for me to properly thank you and if you ever question yourself as a teacher or question your path in life, please think of me (and I’m sure so many others), because without you I don’t think I’d be feeling this way today. Plus, my joyful self seems to inspire and affect others, which just adds to the number of people that your life has touched!

So assuming reading this makes you grateful, happy, and anything else good, multiply that feeling by 1,000 and that’s how I’m hoping this email will make you feel!

Most Sincerely!

-J. L.”

Does that inspire you as much as it does me?!?
What’s even more amazing is that each of these people (like I do) know they’re only beginning to harvest the benefits available to them. The potential is truly astonishing!
Please consider joining us for one of these great opportunities this summer and fall. We put our very best into them with a whole lotta love. We’d love to welcome you.

Here’s that gem of a poem I read by the campfire. (In fact, my book still smells like woodsmoke!)

Welcome Morning
by Anne Sexton

There is joy
in all:
in the hair I brush each morning,
in the Cannon towel, newly washed,
that I rub my body with each morning,
in the chapel of eggs I cook
each morning,
in the outcry from the kettle
that heats my coffee
each morning,
in the spoon and the chair
that cry “hello there, Anne”
each morning,
in the godhead of the table
that I set my silver, plate, cup upon
each morning.

All this is God,
right here in my pea-green house
each morning
and I mean,
though often forget,
to give thanks,
to faint down by the kitchen table
in a prayer of rejoicing
as the holy birds at the kitchen window
peck into their marriage of seeds.

So while I think of it,
let me paint a thank-you on my palm
for this God, this laughter of the morning,
lest it go unspoken.

The Joy that isn’t shared, I’ve heard,
dies young.

Isn’t that a good one?
On that note, let’s share some joy today!
What’s lighting you up?
I’d love to hear. And if you don’t feel like writing, do share it with someone. :)

Sending my best wishes,
Grateful (even while discomfited) :)

We'd love it if you'd consider sharing with your networks.
