A note from Erin
Oh, the freshness of the season. The tenderness of this impermanent, beautiful display. This month, our offerings are almost as abundant as the fall harvest around here!
So today, I’d love to share a few poems and then tell you all about the juicy opportunities we’ve got going on in October.
I just returned from gorgeous New Mexico and the Way of Tenderness Retreat. Beautiful and tender indeed!
I’m inspired to share again a favorite poem that is inscribed on my heart. I never tire of it. I always relish the reminder.
Mother of Us All
Mother-of-us-all prays to free us
from our image of perfection
to which so much suffering clings.
When in the shadowy mind
we imagine ourselves imperfectly,
praying to be freed from gravity
by enlightenment, she refines our prayers.
Putting her arms around us
she bids us rest our head on her shoulder
whispering, Don’t you know
with all your fear and anger
all you are fit for is love.
Here’s another from my dear friend, poet Brooke McNamara. I can hardly wait for her new book to come out!!
And one last one just to take the message on home…
This one’s from Rilke.
With infinite tenderness, we are held, in this very moment. Never not held. For that, I am deeply grateful.
Friends, Carl and I have many wonderful learning opportunities to share with you this October – some local and some online. We hope you’ll read about them below.
First – we opened the Embodiment Lab! We are beyond happy to be sharing these teachings we’re so passionate about in this monthly format online. If you’d like to join us, you can still jump in! There are more details and a signup link right here. We’re having such a blast and so thrilled to finally have the doors open to this vibrant learning community. We have an amazing group of participants from all over North America, as well as Europe and Asia. We’d love to have you join us! Just $50! :)
My newest, never done before Fall course begins this weekend: The Great Turning: Introducing Evolutionary Embodiment. Read more and sign up here. I still have a few spots left! I can hardly wait.
Carl’s in-person Fall course begins soon too. Natural Movement & Feldenkrais: Embodying Awareness, Strength and Spontaneity starts October 17th. It’s going to be excellent!
We have so many incredible podcast episodes coming this month! Two are ready now and more are coming shortly.
Our latest conversation with Stephen Jenkinson was equally gorgeous and moving. His way with words is unlike anyone we’ve ever met. You can listen here, and that one will be in next month’s Catalyst, in advance of The Nights of Grief and Mystery Tour coming to SLC on November 16th. (Local friends, do you have your tickets yet? It’s going to be unforgettably beautiful.)
We have more being edited by our helper including an excellent conversation with our dear friend Sunny Rose Healey all about Ayurveda and you. We’ll have that one out next week! Don’t miss it.
You can read more below and on our website about these offerings and more.
We’re so grateful for you!
Thank you for reading.
Through gravity, through the unconditional support of the earth beneath you in this very moment, through the spaciousness between your breaths, may you feel in the marrow of your bones that you are never not held.
With infinite tenderness,
thanks to my friend, Julie Howell, for this photo :)
