New Beginnings and Early Discount Extended for Costa Rica

A note from Carl:

Good morning!

What a beautiful late summer/ early fall morning with colors changing in the canyons. I find myself needing layers of fleece for morning coffee on the porch. I appreciate the nuances and changes of all seasons, but the transition into fall is one that is most satisfying for me.

It feels as though I am called back to myself in the fall; drawn more naturally to my values, more inclined toward turning inward after the enlivening activity and travel of summer.

For years I have loved the term “Begin Again.” I always get a clear sense of that in the fall. A new beginning. These questions naturally arise to redirect my life-course:

* What has most value and priority for me now?
* How do I want use the great resource of my attention?
* What supports vitality, aliveness and connection?
* What is present in my life that drains me?

Of course, beginning again can happen with each morning, each breath, each time I sit on my meditation cushion. But there are certain times when that returning and remembering can be most potent.

Though it seems a bit far away, we are so looking forward to returning to Finca Mia in Costa Rica for our Begin Again retreat in January.

For those of you who live in Salt Lake, you know the January inversion can be quite challenging. (Read “life-sucking.”)

A couple of years ago, seeing Mesa coughing his way through the inversion, we wondered, “How could we support people in going somewhere warm, wild, natural and beautiful to do a retreat to begin the New Year in a way that supports health, vitality, and thriving in the new year?”

We found such a place in Finca Mia.

As one retreat participant said last year, “I think this is the most beautiful place I have ever seen.”

The land is truly magical, the organic, fresh, delicious meals with all the fruit and produce grown on site or nearby, the movement studio with 3 open-air walls that offer views of the canyons, the musical chorus of birds, and the sounds of the rushing Rio Talari below. It truly is an ideal setting for exploring The Embodied Life practices, and the natural new year’s practice of Beginning Again.

Please feel free to contact us if you have questions. We have extended the early registration discount until Oct 1st.

The Old Poets Of China

Wherever I am, the world comes after me.
It offers me its busyness. It does not believe
that I do not want it. Now I understand
why the old poets of China went so far and high
into the mountains, then crept into the pale mist.
