Learning To Listen

Learning to Listen
a 5-week course in embodied listening with Erin Geesaman Rabke
Tuesday mornings, 8:30-10:30am, July 12 – August 9
in the grassy shade under lovely old trees at Lindsey Gardens, 7th Ave. & N Street in SLC
Bring a blanket, cushion, or camp chair and your favorite morning beverage to the park and join me over five Tuesday mornings to practice growing your embodied listening skills this summer. We’ll work with powerful practices of listening to ourselves as well as listening to others.
Each class will begin with a guided lesson.
After the introductory lesson, we’ll break off into small groups to engage in actual listening practice.
After our practice, we’ll come together to reflect and learn from each other.
In addition, participants are invited to spend one hour per week in listening practice with a partner from the class. I’ll be pairing people up differently each week for the practices we do together and for the suggested practices between classes.

Learning to listen well is a profound endeavor.

It’s one way to live our moments with as much attention, care, and affection as possible.
The effect of authentic listening on our inner lives, when we truly listen to what is alive in us without trying to fix it and without trying to get rid of it – is the closest thing to magic I know.
Listening liberates.

Learning to listen to others, to just be present to another’s experience is another profound act of respect and care.
We can listen to others in such a way that they can more fully tune into their own wisdom.
Relationships flower when mutual listening is at their core.
Listening liberates.

I would be delighted to have you join me in the lovely space at Lindsey Gardens for five mornings this summer that might just profoundly impact your life.
Listening liberates.
