Embodied Life

Embodied Life TM

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Embodied Life work.

Here’s a bit about it:

From Russell Delman, it’s creator:

EMBODIMENT refers to the experience of wholeness:

in essence, the integration of mind/body/spirit and includes:

presence (the connection of self and world in present moment)

and integrity (authenticity, honesty and self-responsibility.)

The body is viewed as a vehicle through which the entire human being and one’s relationship to life can be explored.”

How wonderful, right?
The Embodied Life™ refers to an approach to human transformation developed by Russell Delman.

This work is an integration of

  • Zen based meditation – Embodied Meditation
  • and guided practices to connect with our inner life – Embodied Inquiry.

All of the practices are based on learning to be present with the reality of our inner experience in an open, authentic and curious way.
Why the emphasis on bodily experience?
Our body lives in the present moment, always in a particular time and place.

Contrast this with our mind, which is sometimes consciously connected to the living moment and sometimes not.

This fact that the body is always present can be a great ally; our physical sensations can be like a magnet to the present moment – and can serve as a gateway to the experience of presence. Returning to wholeness.
True satisfaction only exists in our presence –  through being consciously alive right here and now.

This return to our living reality is the basis for true satisfaction and meaning in whatever tasks we choose in our lives.

It includes mindfulness and goes beyond mindfulness.

This being in our living reality and discovering true satisfaction is the aim of this work.

We focus on growing presence and growing compassion.

Truly a worthy journey.

________

In addition to completing a 3-year Embodied Life Mentorship Program with Russell Delman, we have each completed a 4-year training in the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education. We each have more than 20 years experience in study and practice of Buddhist meditation, primarily in the Tibetan tradition – though more recently in Russell’s style of Zen-based meditation. We are currently also studying to be certified in Inner Relationship Focusing.

We are grateful and honored that Russell Delman has given us not only his blessing, but his strong encouragement and support to come forward as teachers of this brilliant work.

The Embodied Life work so beautifully weaves together many threads we’ve been following for all of our adult lives. We have huge love, commitment, and passion for the profound potential in this work. It works!
We live and love this work every day –  in our marriage, our parenting, our relationships, our work, our play, ourselves.

We’d love to share it with you.
It rocks.
